Angling

Ever consider kayaking?  How about angling while kayaking?  What if your feet propelled the kayak while your hands held your favorite fishing rod and reel?  How sweet would that be?  Captain Douggie has a fleet of Hobie Kayaks featuring the hands free Mirage Drive.  He is available to share his knowledge of kayak angling at a time and place of your choosing.  Give him a call or text him a message at (505)-850-5902.  Email him at dcopeland@windstream.net. Fishing may seem like a boring hobby, but once you do it you understand the excitement.  At first you feel like the only exciting part is catching a fish but once you learn different ways of fishing, the skys the limit.  I got some great tips to help me grow and learn from my mistakes.  My grandpa is the one who taught me to fish and has helped me along the way.

My favorite part of fishing is the casting.  Thank you Douggie for teaching me to cast.  I like the feeling of relief when I catch the fish.  Catching a fish is the best feeling in the world after you put all your hard effort into it.  Douggie taught me how to play the fish to catch them.”

Kayak Angling Demonstration

Lake demonstration of Hobie Compass 180 Mirage Drive will be facilitated by Captain Douggie.  Additional Hobie Compass basic Mirage Drive can be provided for second person.  Discuss and demonstrate safe kayak boat operation.  Demonstrate angling techniques that catch fish routinely.  Minimum of 2 hours, $25 per hour (NMGRT Included).  Add $20 per hour for second person.

Digital Memories

With client’s permission, Digital Memories consisting of photos and videos will be recorded during Tailgate Discussion and Kayak Angling Demonstration.  Digital Memories will be posted to a client specific folder on Captain Douggie’s cloud space.  Client will be provided a secure link to the folder.  Folder will be same day accessible with either Iphone or Android device.  Client will be able to download high resolution digital photos and video from the cloud space.  The download link will expire after 7 days.  Digital memories will not be shared or released to anyone other than the client.  Lump sum $25 (NMGRT Included).

Catch & Release vs. Catch & Keep

The Kayak Angling Demonstration will follow the catch and release paradigm.  It is incumbent upon the client to carry a valid New Mexico Fishing License.  Digital memories are captured after fish are netted before being released back into the lake.  In the case of Kokanee Salmon, they are usually caught with the use of a down rigger at depths ranging from 40 to 80 feet. Consequently, Kokanee will not always revive at the surface and return to the lake safely.   Therefore, if client chooses to fish for Kokanee, the catch and keep paradigm will be followed.  Captain Douggie will make arrangements to provide ice chest during outing.  Kokanee will be put on ice and processed for consumption at the fish cleaning station after returning to the dock.
